Coach, Therapist, or Consultant. What’s the difference?

People are often confused about the differences between a Coach, a Therapist, and a Consultant.

It is important to note that a Coach is not a Therapist, and vice versa. While a Coach or Therapist can be a Consultant, this is not necessarily the case.

Here are some of the differences:

Coach:
A Coach is focused on helping you live your best life personally or professionally. Coaching is a future-focused process in which you (the client) drive the agenda while being guided by the coach. This partnership helps to guide you to personal growth and success.

Therapist:
A Therapist helps you heal from past trauma in an effort to effectively focus on your present and future, leading to individual growth and development.

Consultant:
A Consultant provides expertise to help organizations grow, through the analysis of problems and solutions.

While each role may contain some similar aspects and there can be overlap, there is a marked difference. For example, you can work with a Coach, Therapist and Consultant simultaneously, as each will focus on different areas of your life or business. They each provide their own unique benefits.

As a Leadership and Empowerment Coach, my goal is to help you live your best life, personally and professionally.
