CHERYL LEWIS-THURAB | SPEAKER LEADERSHIP & EMPOWERMENT COACH | FACILITATOR

Cheryl’s path to becoming a Leadership and Empowerment Coach commenced many years ago during her tenure in the telecommunications industry, where she had the privilege of attending ongoing training sessions. The collaborative and engaging atmosphere of these workshops, as well as the opportunity to impact the lives of others, inspired her to pursue coaching as a career option.

After leaving her position in fundraising and events management, Cheryl decided to venture into self-employment as a Speaker, Leadership & Empowerment Coach and Facilitator, while gaining experience and working on a part-time basis. In 2016 she established CLT Coaching & Consulting – a multifaceted platform that offers Leadership and Empowerment Coaching alongside Business Services.

Cheryl’s vibrant personality and empathetic nature draws people towards her. Due to this, she is frequently sought after by clients, and at times by complete strangers. Cheryl enjoys public speaking and has spoken at numerous events across Canada and the Caribbean. She has appeared on several radio, TV and live shows, as well as print and online media. She has done voice-over work and continue to appear as a guest speaker on various podcasts. Her interest in community building led her to run as a candidate for Toronto City Councillor in the 2018 municipal elections.

Cheryl was born into a large lower-middle income family. The unique experiences she gained while growing up has shaped her into who she is today. Her father passed away when she was very young, leaving her mother with the responsibility of providing solely for their large family. Cheryl learned valuable lessons about life through watching her mother navigate single parenthood with strength, grace and tremendous resilience.

As a member of  the McLean/Harvard Institute of Coaching, Cheryl utilizes her vast knowledge base to effectively guide clients across corporate, government, and non-profit industries. Her goal is to continue learning and growing through self-improvement and self-love. As a change-maker, Cheryl seeks out strategic alliances. She has served on several Boards and Committees, including Toronto Community Housing and Touchstone Youth Centre. Her interest in the arts propelled her to join other arts-related endeavours such as Toronto Caribbean Carnival and Swizzlestick Theatre Performers.
